Reasonable Diets for Diabetic Nephropathy

The importance of taking care of diet is as much as choosing a efficient treatment, now let's see something useful about diets for Diabetic Nephropathy patients.

● In order to protect kidneys, enough vitamin and trace elements such as vitamin B, vitamin C, calcium, zinc, iron and so on should be replenished.
● In order to reduce the burden of kidney, patients should control salt intake and have low salt diets, even the salt-free diets if is needed.
● Food like cream, lard oil, butter, fat, mutton fat, beef tallow should be less eaten, for they are easy to increase blood fat, also food which contains high-cholesterol should be less eaten, such as vitellus, sleeve-fish, pork chop, chicken and so on, in case Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease occurs. White sugar, brown sugar, glucose, honey, chocolate, fruit drops, tinned fruit, preserved fruit, soft drink, sweet drinks, jam, ice cream, cake, cookie and other foods that are easy to increase blood sugar should be less eaten.
● Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy should control potassium and protein intake, in order to avoid acidosis and hyperkalemia that can cause Cardiac Arrhythmia and Hepatic Coma occurring.
● If you like drinking, now please give it up. As alcohol only contains heat energy without nutrient substances, long-term drinking can do harm to kidney and liver and is also easy to increase TG.
