Is High Creatinine Equal to Renal Failure
Is high creatinine equal to Renal Failure? Maybe many patients want to know whether they get Renal Failure when creatinine is high.
Renal Failure refers to a pathological state that kidney function has lost partly or totally. Healthy kidneys can keep your blood clean through removing the excessive fluid, minerals and wastes and ensure the stability of inner environment of body and metabolism can proceed normally. But if the kidneys are damaged, these harmful substances will deposit in the kidneys and damage kidney inherent tissues and cells. In clinical, kidney failure also known as CKD 5, in this stage, it means that patients' Glomerular Filtration Rate is lower than 15ml/min and the damage of kidney function is very severe.
Creatinine is a chemical waste product produced in our body as a result of muscle metabolism. The breakdown of goods can also produce some creatinine , healthy kidneys remove creatinine from our blood and deposit in urine for removal from our body, it can keep the creatinine level in a normal range. When there is high creatinine level, it can tell that glomerular filtration function get a damge.
If someone is diagnosed with Kidney Failure, his creatinine level must be high. However, if someone’s creatinine level is high, he may not develop into Kidney Failure yet. His disease may be just in stage 2 or stage 3 of chronic kidney disease. If so, his illness condition is still reversible by effective and timely treatment, so dialysis or kidney transplant can be avoided and the patients can live a better life. Therefore, if you have a high creatinine level now, you need to take effective treatment as soon as possible to prevent your disease from real Kidney Failure.
